Led the consultation within Comcast to modernize its 15-year-old billing system, and planned the migration of business processes and data.

·  Recruited by the CIO & Senior VP IT to be Comcast’s Commercial Chief Architect.

·  As Chief Architect for Comcast Business Services, a $2 billion business unit providing Ethernet and Advanced Voice Services to corporate clients, Vishy was responsible for architecting sales, service delivery and service assurance solutions supporting this fast growing business space. Vishy was also focusing on re-architecting their Order Management processes and systems as well as launching a brand new customer care tool for the business services call centers.

Vishy was a Senior Manager with Convergys Professional Service Group. He has over 12 years experience in system analysis, design, development, end to end testing and day-to-day billing & ERP systems operation. Having gained extensive technical experience using different development tools on various platforms, Vishy has a good understanding of the system delivery life cycle and was well versed with different methodologies in system development.

 

He came with a strong background of Telco billing, Banking, Retail, Insurance and Financial applications having worked across vertical industry sectors, with numerous customers.

 

STC - (Riyadh, KSA)   (Aug 2007 – May 2008)

 

Vishy was at a Tier 1 Telco with over 25 million wireline/wireless subscribers on their next generation integration platform transformation program.

 

The overall project entailed working diligently with multiple vendors and integration specialists from Oracle, Seibel and BEA Systems in order to design a State-of-the-art Enterprise architectural solution.

Vishy was heading the MTS Allstream Enterprise Solution in Toronto/ Winnipeg Canada. The first phase called “Fast Track” was delivered and passed User acceptance tests in Sep 2006, ahead of schedule. This phase included, CRM integration with Siebel, Revenue assurance with SAP, Provisioning with Ericsson network elements, Payments, Bill inquiry, Pricing for over 100 different price plan offerings. Vishy in his capacity managed the deliverables of 35 resource onsite, with deliverable drops spaced out every 2 months. In addition to the components in the overall project, his responsibilities also included providing support and guidance to onsite System Integrators, liaising with MTS chief architect and PMO office on project status, to take the system into production by Nov 2006.

 

China Netcom - (Jan 2007 – Jul 2007)

 

Vishy was working with CNC, a Tier 1 prospect in China with over 120 million wireline subscribers on a multi-million dollar next generation rating and billing platform transformation program.

 

CNC and Convergys jointly agreed to conduct a proof of concept assessment (POC) for a future convergent billing solution.

 

The objectives of the POC were to demonstrate the features and functions of Convergys’ system, Infinys Rating and Billing, and provide feasible operations’ suggestions to CNC Convergent, combined with the demonstration.

 

The Convergys POC demonstrated a bundle of wired, wireless, data and pay TV services, supporting residential and enterprise customers.

 

In a multi-phased approach for Phase 1, Convergys focused on Rating and Billing of Post Paid services. Phase 2 was focused on other system modules, Customer Management and Pre-paid (online charging) / Post-paid scenarios.

The POC scenarios were defined in a joint 6 weeks workshop that took place prior to the configuration of the POC.

 

Key responsibilities included-

 

·  Provide on-site leadership and coordination of all aspects of delivery.

·  Manage relationships with senior level client executives.

·  Manage engagement financials with overall responsibility for meeting engagement forecast and financial targets.

Telefonica Moviles de Mexico   (Nov 2004 -  Sep 2005)

 

Vishy was in Mexico at a leading Tier 1 Wireless Provider, working on an end-to-end adjunct data rating solution for their (GPRS/SMS/MMS/WAP and ODM) services. He led the client’s technical workshop and requirement gathering phase working with a team technical SME’s. He led a team of solution architect responsible for drafting a high level technical architecture and delivering detail design documents for their SDP Pre-paid interface, Custom Data Manager, ASN.1 (Abstract Syntax Notation 1) design, data structure development and SCL Customer management interface. His development team coded all of these key modules. The environment was Oracle 9i on HP-UX platform. Some of his day-to-day tasks are listed below:-

His team led the client’s technical workshop and requirement gathering phase and was instrumental in putting together a high level functional architecture.

His team’s tasks also involved delivering detail design documents on device management framework, provisioning and fulfillment. He was responsible to code review some of these key modules and lead the system integration testing team. The environment was Oracle9i on Sun Solaris 2.7. Vishy was at Vodafone Japan, leading the Portal Advantage (Basis for Portal 7 release) Billing and Product Catalogue team to roll out new features and enhancements to address Vodafone Japan’s end-to-end rating and billing technical solutions.

His day-to-day tasks involved liaising with portal engineering to address technical design issues and gaps in the functional specifications and client’s requirement analysis documents/use cases. The environment was Oracle 9i Multi DB on HP-UX platform.

XO Communication - Virginia (Oct 2003 - Feb 2004)

Vishy was at XO communications (Virginia), working on a Vertex (Telco) implementation. He was leading the Taxation Core team in designing, developing and deploying the telecommunication taxation applications at the client site. The tasks involved detail design, coding key Modules and eventually moving it to production. He also led the integration test team in modular testing of Phase II release. The environment was Oracle 8.1.6 on Sun Solaris 2.6.

- Implement the use of Vertex through an Interconnect pipeline to calculate usage taxes for Interconnect call detail records (CDR) using a batch stream. 
- Use Vertex (CommTax21) to calculate taxes on Monthly Recurring charges and Non- Recurring charges within Infranet using dm_vertex.
- Handling of tax exemption - This includes Nextel and other exemptions of new Carriers. 
- Ensuring records for Nextel and other exempt operators if applicable are not taxed using Vertex to enhance performance.
- Interface with Vertex (CommTax21) using a batch stream. 
- Read the (CommTax21) Link Area and retrieve the tax results received from Vertex.
- Aggregate and process taxed records through a separate pipeline, load into the Infranet Database using Universal Event Loader.

 

Vodafone - United Kingdom (Feb 2003 - Jul 2003)

 

Vishy was at Vodafone UK. (Newbury), working on building a multi threaded Rated Event Loader (REL) enabling pre-rated Call detail records (CDR) to be loaded into Infranet using Oracle sqlldr and updating the customer account and item balances.

He worked with Vodafone system test team helping them with IREL performance tuning, application stability and training. He was leading the Infranet Core team in deploying custom applications at client site in a Multi install/Multi DB environment.

Axapta 2.5 – Vishy performed an upgrade from Axapta 2.1. Microsoft Biz Talk web services were consumed to integrate Vodafone Financial systems with Axapta 2.5.

Vishy designed & implemented the Bass to Infranet Interface components based around the Universal Event Loader. He also wrote the Interface Detailed Design document and coded all the complex transaction logic for handling Bass data and Synchronizing the Rate Tables, Subscriber Data in Infranet.

 

Vishy used the Universal Event Loader (UEL) extensively, with Infranet Batch Controller and Batch Handler supporting the file management, automation functionalities.  All business rules were encapsulated in custom modules coded in (C/C++) (Infranet API’s) and these custom API’s were used to implement all the transaction logic for handling Bass data.

 

As Senior Technical architect Leading the Bass to Infranet Interface/Solution Team at Vodafone Sweden, some of his key tasks were: -

 

- Bass to Infranet Interface Design

- Handling incoming CDR files & processing requests contained in these files, including the behavior of Infranet Server

- Verify the Oracle database parameters

- CMMP configuration & Load balancing for LDAP

- Guideline documentation and upgrade process to Infranet 6.0.3 & Oracle 8i

 

 

Data Access System Wireless ISP (India)

Vishy was on a foreign assignment in India (New Delhi) for 4 weeks working at India’s 2nd largest ISP. He did a complete system audit of the client’s Infranet architecture and configuration. He was also involved in performance tuning their production system using Portal’s Performance Tuning guide and went through the production readiness checklist. The environment was Oracle 8.0.5 and Sun Solaris 2.6.

- Troubleshoot Integration with LDAP, Messaging & Radius server.
- Identify Single Point of Failure.
- Verify the Oracle database parameters.
- CMMP configuration & Load balancing for DM_LDAP.
- Guideline documentation and upgrade process to Infranet 6.0.3 & Oracle 8i.
- Troubleshoot and correct the delay in DM_LDAP push to Directory Server, while inactivating users in Infranet.
- Create a utility for bulk account activation & inactivation using Infranet C API.
- Setup Universal Event Loader to load CDRs
- Create a new UAT environment.
 

CGI Information Systems - (Toronto, Canada)    

(Senior Technical Consultant) (Mar 1998 – Jan 2000)

 

Vishy was at Bell Canada working on migration of their billing systems from legacy system to NCR’s Teradata. His responsibilities include data mapping (DB2 to Teradata), preparing unit tests and system test environment and designing Seagate Crystal reports on the NCR 5150 Platform. The Project involved the migration of Bell’s BRIP, TOLL/IA and IMAGE databases from legacy system to NCR’s Teradata. The scope also involved migration of Sales/IA and SETI Gateways into a single logical data model implemented in two physical models and databases, single access environment (i.e. DB2 staging area database on the mainframe and Teradata EDW database on the NCR 5150 Platform).

 

In his role as a Senior Consultant, Vishy was at Molson Brewers, involved in the design and development of various applications for a national retail chain. His responsibilities included designing project specifications using the CGI methodology, developing sub systems and interfacing with the existing retail application (Retek V6.0). As lead team member, he was also responsible for implementation, training and support of the entire system. The System was developed using Oracle 8.0, Developer/2000 on HP-UX and Windows NT 4.0.

Vishy was responsible for the daily operations of the Zetetic banking system. His specific duties included the ATM and Member Card database management.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines - (Amsterdam, Middle East)

Flight Operations Officer (Feb 1993 - Dec 1997)

 

In his role as a Flight Operations officer, Vishy was supporting the KLM central flight planning system for their Middle East operations. His tasks, also involved day to day operations and running of flight plan reports for the flight deck crew. Retrieve meteorological weather data from the central weather reporting system in Amsterdam (NL).

 

He was also responsible for testing and evaluating some of the solutions provided by external vendors to resolve middleware problems and trouble shooting. Additionally he was responsible for organizing weekly technical meetings among different departments to evaluate some of the feasible solutions.
